Sunday collection 16th/17th March amounted to £2381. Standing orders for February amounted to £291 – standing order Parishioners are receiving boxes without the Sunday envelope, only special collection envelopes – insofar as I know who is using this method of contributing. Thanks to all who contributed. Parish envelopes for 2019/2020 are being distribured at present. At present only two people help count the Sunday collection – maybe those who used to help may recommit and others may like to join this group. Three/four people every Sunday would be a great help and the more there are, then a rota can be arranged. Contact Fr. M.

SCC in Conversation with Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh celebrated his 88th birthday last August but the famous GAA commentator and Irish language enthusiast, is living a fuller life than most men a third of his age. While young men regularly post their achievements on social media for all the world to see, the octogenarian is busy climbing mountains, driving himself the length and breadth of Ireland to charitable events and jet-setting annually on long-haul flights — the most recent being to New Zealand to celebrate St Patricks Day. “I think looking forward all the time is the best secret of all,” he says. “It’s an outlook I have, not to be seeking worries — what if it doesn’t happen? Deal with them when they come.” Sometimes he survives on four hours’ sleep if the road back from a late function is long — and he wants to make the most of the next day. Indeed, retirement has not dampened his enthusiasm for life. “I’m still witnessing it all, seeing it all and enjoying it all — like I always have.” Come to St Ciaran’s College Ballygawley on Thurs 28th March at 7.30pm and hear one of Ireland’s greatest treasures, the man regarded as the voice of Ireland. Listen to the legendary commentator speak about living a life less ordinary and about the lessons learned along the way.
Errigal Ciaran Club Notes Due to the St. Patricks Weekend bank holiday, this week’s Alphalot draw was set to take place on Tuesday 19th March. Results will be distributed later in the week via WhatsApp. We are finalising preparations for our Adult Footballers annual presentation night on Saturday 23rd March 2019 at Kellys Inn. This event will recognise the achievements of our Minor Boys, Minor Girls, Senior Men, Senior Reserves and Junior Reserves who all landed trophies last season. Come along to support our teams and have a night’s craic. Refreshments will be served on the night. Errigal Ciaran Youth Spring Training is well underway now. Due to the numbers of U6’s and U8’s, the training for these groups of boys and girls continues on Saturdays from 10am – 11am in St. Ciaran’s College. U10’s and U12’s coaching continues in St. Ciaran’s College on Tuesdays from 18:30 – 19:30. All parents of U6’s and U8’s are encouraged to attend to assist the coaching indoors. All children need to be accompanied into and out of the halls and pitches at the beginning and end of training for Health and Safety Reasons. For any members experiencing a recent black out with regards club text messages, we would ask for patience. We are experiencing difficulties with our mobile provider and are investigating alternative communication options at the moment. Ideally, WhatsApp is currently our most effective platform and we would encourage anybody with access to a smartphone to download WhatsApp and let us know you have done so. Upcoming club fixtures: Sun 24th March @ 11:30am – U14 Boys vs. Strabane @ Dunmoyle, Sat 30th March @ 12noon – U14 Boys vs. Coalisland @ Dunmoyle. All support is greatly appreciated.
