Season of Lent – Come Back to Mass.
One of my favourite hymns contains the line, All are welcome in this place. For me it describes a Church building full of people gathered to praise God. It could be any Church in our Parish on a Saturday evening or Sunday morning or any weekday. For whatever reason, maybe covid, some people do not gather with the community for Mass – there are many reasons. This Lent I want to encourage people, individuals and families to consider coming back to Mass – Saturday evening or Sunday morning or any weekday (some come to weekday Mass rather than the crowded weekend Masses due to covid, and that is ok). Whatever the reason for not being there, put it behind you this Lent, start again, at least for the six weeks of Lent. No matter your depth of faith, or your personal or family situation all are welcome in this place. No one is to be forced but perhaps a gentle nudge might be enough!
