Advent is our preparation for the coming of Christ at Christmas and at the end of time. It is a time of waiting, conversion and of hope. It is marked in the liturgy with an Advent Wreath – five candles for the four weeks of Advent and one for Christmas – purple vestments – no gloria. Because Christmas Day falls on a Monday this year we have a short Advent Season. Sunday readings follow Year B. Today also begins the Church liturgical year.

Please write the names on a piece of paper and bring it to the Church and leave in basket in front of the Altar.
