Season of Lent: begins on Ash Wednesday 26th February – the liturgy is marked by no Gloria or Alleluia; no flowers in the sanctuary;

purple/violet vestments – all this emphasises the penitential character of Lent. How will Lent be marked in your life – is there something that

needs changed or transformed? Morals, values, Catholicity, spirituality – operation transformation?!

Lately deceased: Maggie Devine, Catherine McIlroy

Cardinal MacRory Pastoral Area Resource Team meeting on Thursday 20th February in Beragh.

Year of Prayer and Reflection in the Archdiocese as we, bishops, clergy, religious, Parishioners face the future, was launched in the

Cathedral on Thursday 30th January last. We are encouraged to pray in varied ways: Adoration, Thanksgiving, Supplication and to avail of

the Sacrament of Reconcilation. Prayer cards are availavle in Churches which I suggest can be prayed by families together at a meal time or

before going to bed – on a daily basis – and add your own family name saints to the litany of Diocesan saints. While our primary focus is the

Diocese, this might be of benefit to some families as they also reflect and pray about their present circumstances and their future. The

Primary Schools have also taken up the call to pray.
