Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament – with the present Covid 19 restrictions adoration has been suspended until after 5th March.

As a Parish we could not grieve for Fr. Seery RIP as we would have liked to – as has been the same for families in the Parish who have faced the death of loved ones in recent months. We will mark his Month Mind on 14th February with Mass, which Parishioners can view and attend via the radio or webcam. Talking to some Parishioners during the week I suggest that Parishioners could write a thought or a memory concerning Fr Seery – these could be collected and kept in a folder/box like a time capsule and held for posterity. Not opened or read now but in years to come. These can be left at the Parochial House. It’s an idea families could use following the death of a loved one.

Confirmation – two ceremonies – on Pentecost Sunday 23rd May in Church of the Immaculate Conception first at 11am for P7 St Brigid’s and St Malachy’s Primary Schools; and second at 1pm for P7 St Mary’s Primary School.
Rosary Walk at Ballymacilroy: 20 trees for each of the 20 Mysteries of the Rosary have been planted on 16th & 23rd January – thank you to Joe, Michael, Declan, Tom and Ronan, Dermot and Neven who did the digging and the planting. My hope is that later in the spring families could buy a ground cover plant for the bank which families especially children would plant. But more on that later in the year.
Year of Prayer and Reflection in the Archdiocese: unfortunately, Covid 19 interrupted this year but it has been extended into this year. Auxiliary Bishop Michael Router and his team are moving the year forward and have posted three questions for Parishioners reflections and responses: Q. 1. What has this period of separation & isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic changed for you in relation to Church & Faith? Q. 2. Identify one thing that we could do as a Diocese to begin to sustain faith personally & collectively as we emerge from lockdown. Q. 3. How can you and those close to you contribute your time and talents to the mission of the Church in your parish or pastoral area?
On January 28th Bishop Michael will launch a short video on the Armagh Diocesan Facebook and YouTube pages at 7.30pm to announce the extension to the Year of Reflection and Prayer and to encourage people to feed back their suggestions and thoughts to yprarmagh@gmail.com. Parishioners and encouraged to view it and to respond.
