Masks should be worn when attending Mass. Please observe social distancing while in the Churches. Those receiving Holy Communion can only do so on the hand – as has been the norm since March 2020. In coming to receive please respect social distancing in the procession to the sanctuary. Those attending are asked to bring a wipe with them to clean down the place where they were praying. Like our homes, it is important to keep our Churches clean and hygienic. After Mass, when outside the Church, please once again respect social distancing. Attending any of the weekday Masses fulfils the Sunday obligation which has been suspended for the foreseeable future so please plan which Mass suits you or your family.

HAVE YOUR SAY: the Church in Ireland is moving towards holding a national synod in the next five years. It is part of the vision of Pope Francis of laypeople, religious, priests, deacons and bishops working together to discern where God is leading the Church and charting a future vision for Irish Catholicism.
As part of the process, The Irish Cathlic wants to give a space for readers to share hopes and dreams for the future of the Church and what they would like to see as part of the synod process. The ‘synod soapbox’ will appear regularly in the paper as a space for dialogue and discernment.
If you would like to be part of he conversation please send a submission of no more than 300words to editor@irishcatholic.ie. The Irish Catholic is available weekly in Churches priced £2.20.
