The following protective measures are recommended to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the vulnerable or anxious members of the congregation: The wearing of face coverings inside Church buildings; Suspension of a handshake at the Sign of Peace; Holy Communion to be received in the hand; social distancing within and outside Churches – such measures have been the norm since March 2020.
While we are encouraged by the lifting of the restrictions imposed during the pandemic, we will continue to take care to provide appropriate protection and reassurance to all involved in Church activities. What we do in Church is a reminder that covid still exits among us. Let us continue to look after each other.
Attending any of the weekday Masses fulfils the Sunday obligation which has been suspended for the foreseeable future so please plan which Mass suits you or your family.

HELP FOR UKRAINE! On Saturday 19th March after prayers led by Stephen McKeown and Mod, four lorries left for Ukraine driven by Michael and Maitiú Donnelly, Seamus Mullin, Thomas Doherty and
Richard Kerr. The lorries contained almost 60tons of humanitarian aid for the people of Ukraine. I (Mod) joined the convoy in Berlin on Monday. We drove to Lublin in Poland where two lorries were unloaded at a massive distribution centre. There, young Ukrainian refugees sorted the aid – food, clothing, water, medical, toiletries, toys, blankets. As we watched this, other lorries from Ukraine arrived to be loaded. We saw some of your donations move from one lorry to another. It was a massive operation. Other groups from Germany and France arrived as well to drop off their donations of aid. The other two lorries went to Warsaw, the Polish capital where the donations were directly loaded onto Ukrainian lorries by people from Ukraine. At both places the Ukrainian people were very appreciative of what they received and those who spoke English said so and others, despite covid and some Irishmen’s reluctance to be demonstrative, gave hugs. But smiling faces said it all.
In Lublin we had time to travel to the Polish Ukrainian border – a place called Dorohusk about one hour twenty minutes east of Lublin. There we saw what we have seen on TV, tents with food, clothing, information on where to go next. Some people were waiting for family or friends to arrive from Ukraine. One lady we saw had walked across the border to be welcomed with open arms by another lady. The most harrowing scene was a bus coming from Ukraine. Some of the blinds were drawn on the windows but some were open, and we could see children’s faces – ashen faces, lifeless eyes, just staring.
The donations of aid that you and many others gave will in some way change those faces. The parcels of hope that the lorries delivered will make a difference to people’s lives.
Thank you for your donations and financial contributions towards transportation and your support to help the people of Ukraine and by extension you helped the people of Poland who are one of many neighbouring countries opening their arms to welcome and help.
As Jesus said: whatever you do for the least of my sisters and brothers you to do for me.
