Church of the Immaculate Conception – to mark the 40th anniversary of its consecration and opening in 1982 the Church has been painted, a new stone in the grounds marks the 40th and new carpet will go down in August (week beginning 7th – hopefully a week will do the job!). Before that, it falls to us as Parishioners to lift the pews in preparation for the carpet – can I suggest after Mass next Saturday evening, 5th August – lifting half the pews – we will gather again during the week to replace them and move the other half. Able-bodied Parishioners welcome to volunteer! During the laying of the carpet the Church will be closed – no Mass or adoration that week and funerals can be celebrated in any of the other Churches of the Parish.
